Just like the LTISD! Is this the sort of issue that the LTISD Board wants to promote as having already taken the lead?

Did you know that the LTISD elevators were finally inspected on 1/26/2007?

It seems that this happened only after I brought it to their attention that the LTISD had let their inspections lapse for almost a year! No certificates but the inspections were made on 1/26/2007. Note that the elevator failed inspection and was repaired on 2/2/2007!TPIA

Did you know the rest of the story about the “Is it mold?” issue?

Take a look at the request to have the “water damaged” ceiling repaired and the request for an air quality test.TPIA I will post the results of the air quality test as soon as I get it.

Did you know that the LTISD has an out of date inspection certificate in the Administration Building elevator?

I hope that this is an oversight only for the Administration building and they do indeed have a certificate of inspection to post! I am sure that they will say the magic word “inadvertent” to explain this away. LTISD, let’s get this fixed! Do you not have any inspection certificates for the other buildings in the district?

Did you know the LTISD recently cleaned up the questionable material found on the ceiling of the men’s bathroom at the EDC?

In an earlier information release, I showed the black material which I found on the men’s bathroom of the LTISD EDC building. During my recent visit to the building on January 8, 2007 to attend the Board Workshop, I discovered that the ceiling had been repaired. The photos below show the work that had been completed to remove the questionable material from the water damaged ceiling.

During a November 29, 2006 visit to the LTISD EDC building I found something interesting on the ceiling of the men’s bathroom. Remember the EDC, remnant of the first Lake Travis Elementary School which was razed due to mold?

Did you know that the district is supposed to remove any offensive, confidential, or proprietary information from computers before assigning them to students?

The LTISD has written policies, but often chooses to disregard them. Here is a Las Vegas vacation photograph of Heidi Gudelman, Principal of the Lakepointe Elementary School. This and several other personal photographs were left on a laptop computer assigned to my son. So much for following policy!

Did you know that the LTISD cannot maintain custody of confidential records?

They give out “memory sticks” containing confidential information for students to use? They even offer to send a courier to your house to retrieve the device thinking that your child may have taken it home! They offer to answer questions regarding the matter and then refuse to answer. Once they found the memory key, the matter is closed, no need to answer your questions. Makes you wonder if they ever had any intention of responding to the questions that they requested. Here are copies of my first, second and third attempt to ask questions regarding this matter, remember, they asked me if I had any questions.

Did you know that the LTISD was found not to be in compliance with the American Disabilities Act (ADA)?

Even more troubling, their lawyers claimed that they were complying with the ADA.TPIA Of all the places that should be accessible by disabled people, one would think that the Special Education Building would be in complain ace? The district was unable to produce documents regarding the age of the Special Education Building! The LTISD even allows their official vehicles to park in disabled parking spaces on a regular basis, even I informed them of their violations. The Office of Civil Rights found that the LTISD was out of compliance and the LTISD finally agreed to make the required modifications. If you have any questions regarding accessibility at the LTISD, you should contact the LTISD ADA/Section 504 coordinator: Pamela Carroll
