Besides the LTISD’s outrageous request for more of our money, do you know what else is on the November 3, 2009 ballot?
A sample ballot for the November election can be obtained from the Travis County Clerk or you may also follow this link to the November 3, 2009 Sample Ballot (Adobe Acrobat format aka PDF) on the Travis County web site.
You can read the REAL data regarding the LTISD and why they should NOT be allowed to squander more of our tax dollars. For some reason, I have not been able to find the data sources that the LTISD uses when trying to convince you to say goodbye to your money.
The district seems to want you to believe the words of Rocky and the other members of the Board. Why can’t they give us the sources of their data?
Perhaps reality is not what they want you to hear, reality such as:
2009 TEA Rating: Academically Acceptable
Superintendent Rocky Kirk’s salary: $247,840/year, an increase of over 60% since 2003! (Did you also know that the district reimbursed Rocky $1000 to pay a consultant to review his latest contract?!)
General Counsel Susan Bohn’s salary: $130,000/year (Did you know that her starting salary was $95,000 and then it increased to $125,000 after only about 6 months on the job?!)
The district’s enrollment has increased only 27% since 2003. The enrollment growth rate averages only 242 students per year since 2003! So much for a “fast growth school district.”
and … and …
And the LTISD has the audacity to ask for more money?
Of course you will want to vote AGAINST the LTISD’s request to leach more money from our pockets:
