Did you know that the Administration asks for positions they can’t explain?

Yes, that’s right!

During the January 24, 2008 LTISD Board meeting, Diane Frost, Deputy Superintendent, asked the Board the approve a new staff position:

“2007-08 Staffing - LTMS Special Education Paraprofessional - Dr. Diane Frost, Deputy Superintendent of Administration and Accountability, provided information regarding the Positive Attitude for School Success (PASS) program. Prior to the 200708 school year the PASS program was located only on the Hudson Bend Middle School Campus. For the 2007-08 school year, the program was expanded to include the Lake Travis Middle School campus as weH. Due to an increased enrollment of special needs students at LTMS an additional aide position is necessary for the remainder of the 2007-08 school year.”

Mayo asked Diane to explain to the Board and the audience what PASS stood for? Diane was unable to answer his question, neither could the rest of the LTISD Administration, not even Rocky! In fact, Rocky thought it was funny that not one of his staff knew.

Beth Muzny tried to come to the rescue by saying that PASS stood for: “Positive Attitude for School Success,” but she was even wrong. The Parent Handbook(s) (for some reason the LTISD web site has links to both the 2/14/2008 and the 9/27/2007 versions of this handbook) say that PASS stands for: “Positive Academic Student Success.”

Good try Beth! At least she knew more than Rocky or the rest of his staff. And she is only paid $47.5k while Diane gets paid $127.5k and Rocky gets his outrageous $231k!TPIA

Yes, it is funny that Rocky and the Administration can ask to spend money, our tax dollars, and can’t explain just what it was that they are the spending money. Too bad the Board thought it was just as funny. And we wonder why they are trying to look worthy of our trust?!

We can’t blame Diane too much, even though she is the Deputy Superintendent, she was just reading a scripted request. How was Diane to know that she was going to be put on the spot?

I have a video of the whole thing, see for yourself!
