Did you know that Jeff Dicus changed his name to “Coach Dicus?”

Our recently departed LTHS football coach seems to have changed his name in 2007. I had noticed in another document that all LTISD teachers are required to sign regarding student confidentiality he signed his name as “Coach Dicus.”

A recent review of Coach Dicus’ LTISD contractsTPIA show that he was “Jeff Dicus” until 2007, see below:

2003: Dicus 2003 Contract Signature

2004: Dicus 2003 Contract Signature

2005: Dicus 2005 Contract Signature

2006: Dicus 2006 Contract Signature

2007: Dicus 2007 Contract Signature

Notice that Dicus’ 2007 contract signature doesn’t look like the previous signatures? A new signature for a new name?

Perhaps Dicus went to a “rubber stamp” signature like Rocky?

There seems to be more information about the Dicus departure that most of us know.

I have heard several rumors, but without verifiable facts I won’t gossip or resort to “Rocky Facts.”

Just what does Rocky, the LTISD Board, Diane Frost and Charlie Little know about this?

However, I will point out some links that I have encountered with message traffic regarding the subject:

“Lake Travis officials let their actions show some of the tension between LT administrators and Dicus. Exactly what the tensions were, nobody is saying. But Dr. Phil could see the outward antagonism here:

Before Dicus had a chance to tell his players 3 p.m. Monday that he’d accepted the Duncanville post, Lake Travis administrators were sending out press releases at 2 p.m. saying Dicus was gone.

In the world of public relations, that’s called a pre-emptive strike. But a strike nonetheless.

Lake Travis administrators make references and imply Duncanville went looking for a mercenary and hired Dicus with big bucks and that Lake Travis isn’t going to pay a football coach that much money.”

“We were telling this to any and all football parents BEFORE he made his decision - but parents were buying into the rumor that it was all about money. I knew better - but no one was listening. There is one woman(and her “little” puppet at the HS) in our ISD responsible for this - and she should be held accountable. Parents need to get it through their heads that he loves these kids and loves LT and would have loved to stay here. Our LTISD had EVERY opportunity to come through and keep him here until Friday afternoon - but they (she) chose not to. People need to read between the lines - there was something going on for him to leave. A little investigation into someones background who came from the Dallas area last year - and everyone will understand. Listen up investigative reporters! Start digging!

When all the truth comes out - and it always does - I think a lot of parents will be ashamed of themselves for saying the things they were saying. We lost a great coach - and will probably lose some more in the next few weeks. It’s too late to change that now. But we need to come together as a community and make sure that the people in our ISD are there for the right reasons and don’t have a personal agenda so this doesn’t happen again.”
