But oh boy how the LTISD’s revenue has increased!
Using the LTISD’s own audit reportsTPIA from 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007, we can see a disturbing picture in the difference between revenue and instructional spending.
Oh how the money comes in, but it doesn’t go toward instructional spending. Rocky sure can increase the administrative overhead and enrich the district’s lawyers.
Oh well, it’s only OUR tax dollars that are getting wasted. It’s not all Rocky’s fault, the Board rubber stamps Rocky’s requests, even if Rocky and the rest of the administrative staff don’t understand what they are spending our money on.
Take a look at the following graph (click on image for a larger view) which shows the LTISD’s revenue and instructional spending per student from 2000 through 2007 (all data obtained from the LTISD’s 2000-2007 audit reportsTPIA):
Note how the revenue has increased dramatically while instructional spending has stayed flat at about $4000 per student.
Now if you take inflation into account, the LTISD is spending less money on instructional spending in 2007 than they were in 2000! (Inflation data from the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Indexes)
I should also mention that the Administrative salary expenses and the legal expenses have increased dramatically during Rocky’s tenure.
Imagine that! Rocky has engaged in tremendous increases in administrative and legal costs during his reign.
At the rate Rocky is adding administrative staff, the LTISD is going to need a new Administration Building to hold them all! Yet, the LTISD has fewer than 6000 students with no realistic expectation of the explosive “high growth” that Rocky fantasizes about.
What does Rocky have to show for all this? Not much. Oh I forgot the LTISD is “Academically Acceptable,” again!
