Did you know what the Eanes ISD put in their “2007 ANNUAL REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY?”

I have to say that the Eanes ISD’s “2007 ANNUAL REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY” is very interesting reading.

The first thing that strikes you about the Eanes ISD’s2007 ANNUAL REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY” is that they are “Engaging!”. They say it at least nine times in their five page report.

  1. “MISSION: The Eanes community is vitally committed to educational excellence by engaging every student in rigorous academic experiences and enriching opportunities.” (Page 1)
  2. “This year we are emphasizing the importance of engaging students in learning, which aligns closely with our mission.” (Page 1)

I wonder if the Eanes ISD is ‘horizontally and vertically aligned’ like the LTISD?I guess not, the Eanes ISD is a “recognized” district while the LTISD is only “academically acceptable.”

  1. ENGAGING IN A CELEBRATION” (Page 5)

Is this like the LTISD’s ‘Celebrations! 2006/2007 Adequate Yearly Progress, State Accountability, and Plans for 2007/2008′ presented by Myra Pettit? (She’s part of Rocky’sSuperintendent’s Cabinet“)Guess what, Myra, like Rocky came from the Spring ISD.Remember, Myra did not have to fill out a job application until AFTER she was already hired by the LTISD!

If the Eanes ISD is “Engaging in a Celebration” then what does the LTISD have to celebrate? Being “academically acceptable” for the second consecutive year?

  2. “Eanes has an outstanding team of teachers who approach instruction in innovative and engaging ways.” (Page 2)Innovative I can understand, but engaging?I wish that the Eanes ISD would define engaging?
  3. ENGAGING ACADEMIC PROGRAMS” (Page 2)
  4. “EISD is committed to engaging students in rigorous academic programs and students respond by achieving at high levels.” (Page 2)
  5. “RESULTS OF ENGAGING INSTRUCTION” (Page 3)
  6. ENGAGING ACTIVITIES” (Page 4)
  7. ENGAGING IN COMMUNITY SERVICE” (Page 4)

The most interesting part of the Eanes ISD’s2007 ANNUAL REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY” is this pie chart:

Eanes 2007 Annual Report to the Community Budget Expenditures

Did you ever notice that:

  1. Like the LTISD, the Eanes ISD has to give up much of the revenue paid in by their tax payers.
  2. The Eanes ISD “Administration and Operations” is a total of 11% of their “pre-redistributed” budget, but it is 20% of their final “working” budget!

That is a lot of administrative overhead and they don’t even have their own “in house counsel” like the LTISD.

I wish that the LTISD would publish a chart like this to let us see just how much administrative “bloat” Rocky has added to the district.

Has anyone else noticed that the LTISD continues to flounder in “academically acceptable,” while Rocky keeps expanding the administration?

Just how many more administrators does it take to save Rocky?
