Rocky recently changed his page on the LTISD web site. He now posts his bio!
Well, now it is time to go over his adaptation of Rocky’s accomplishments and perhaps point out some more items to amend his publication:
“In his 25th year as an educator, and sixth year as Superintendent of LTISD, Dr. Kirk reports to the Board of Trustees and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the District. He is responsible for working collaboratively and effectively with the Board to ensure that the vision and goals of the District are achieved.”
Rocky admits he is responsible!
Is Rocky responsible for all of this management blunders or is he responsible for just the “good stuff?”
“Dr. Kirk provides leadership and guidance to over 700 employees in LTISD, a fast-growth, high performing school district.”
Once again some more “Rocky Facts.”
Note that the LTISD is NOT a fast growth school district and as for high performance, Rocky should check the real facts.
Rocky should remember that he lead (remember he is responsible) the LTISD to a rating of “academically acceptable” for the second year in row.
Just ask yourself: How many college football coaches get a chance to screw up that often? Not many!
Rocky is lucky that he is not being held accountable for his “coaching” of the district.
Now as for “leading and guiding employees,” Rocky, did you lead and guide “Loosey Goosey?”
Rocky was responsible for hiring her and keeping her in a critical position even with the documented evidence that he must have been made aware of if he was truly “responsible” and acting as the “Chief Executive Officer of the District.”
“Since Dr. Kirk’s arrival in LTISD, the District has passed two bond elections totaling $163 million.”
Let’s not forget that Rocky was the “Chief Executive Officer” in charge of a “high growth” school district who could not even complete one elementary school on schedule, was involved in an eminent domain public relations fiasco when they failed to purchase (forcibly take) land, …
But to Rocky’s credit, we have a security camera system and a first class football training facility!
Stay tuned for more about the LTISD bonds …
“Much of Dr. Kirk’s time and attention is focused on creating conditions that support the District’s success as it grows into a much larger suburban school district.”
Why isn’t ALL of Rocky’s time spent focusing on creating conditions that support the District’s success?
Rocky, just how much time is “much?”
This reminds me of the Bill Clinton who quibbled with the famous words: “It depends on what you definition of the word ‘is,’ is?”
Rocky, you wouldn’t happen to be related to Bill would you?
Let’s speak theoretically here: What would happen if Rocky spent all of his time doing the work that we the tax payers paid him to do?
Do you think we would be better off than our current “academically acceptable?”
Just when is this “larger suburban school district” going to materialize?
Rocky continually hallucinates about the growth of the district.
Rocky seems desperate to justify his indefensible salary which he must know is incommensurate with his work product.
“In 2007, Dr. Kirk took the lead in founding the Texas School Excellence Leadership Consortium (TSELC), a multi-year collaboration project involving Lake Travis ISD and eight other highly respected Texas school districts.”
Rocky, don’t you have enough problems to take care of without sinking more of your time in frivolous personal per suits?
Remember, Rocky got an extra 15 paid days (in addition to a hefty pay raise) to go off and cavort in these activities?
How does Rocky reconcile this self-imposed distraction with his own stated purpose to “focus on creating conditions that support the District’s success?”
I guess Rocky has to take the “lead” in something.
Those who can, do, and those who can’t, “collaborate.”
“He enjoys helping prepare future educational leaders by teaching graduate coursework at the university level and is active as a consultant to school board-superintendent teams across the state.”
Rocky consults? Doesn’t he make enough money already?
When does he find the time to consult? This must be the reason that Rocky says that he only spends “much” of his “time and attention” doing the job he gets paid to do.
Since the LTISD is doing so well, “academically acceptable” and all, Rocky has an abundance of free time line his pockets some more. In the mean time the LTISD …
Who would hire Rocky to consult? Just what accomplishments would convince another school district to seek his advice?
Maybe Rocky is preparing for a future as an education consultant like Gary Wrinkle?
