Did you know that Jim Cummings called the 5% teacher pay raise significant?

Yes, Jim, you did say: “We are still able to give substantial raises to our teachers and continue on with the outstanding programs that we have been able to put in place at all of our campuses.”*

Jim how do you call a 5% raise significant? Jim, you might want to look at some history of teacher pay raises in the district, especially contrasted with that of the Superintendent.

If the teachers got a “significant” raise, then tell us Jim what was Rocky’s 25% raise? Outrageous? Unconscionable?

We really don’t buy your claim of “continue with the outstanding programs” especially if that means being “academically acceptable,” again!

Oh, I forgot, the Board and Rocky are looking for “cohort” districts and “lighthouse” districts in which to use to create “feel good” metrics.

The Board utters these two words about as often as they chant “integrity.”

It still does not account for the “academically acceptable” rating which you continue to harp on as “reducing to the lease common denominator.” Of course they do, that is what a metric is meant to do, obviously Jim has fogotten..

Perhaps Jim should remember your own statement that you referred to as one of your campaign slogans: “Hire well and fire well.”

Well Jim…?

Stay tuned for some data regarding the pay and raises of the district’s support personnel.

After receiving an email from a concerned citizen, I have asked the district for information regarding the people who make the district run but are rarely discussed during Board meetings. I could just about bet that they too have not faired as well as Rocky.
