Here is a copy of Susan’s email trying to put her spin to what happened on May 8th. We have a few questions to ask you Susan. Perhaps you can answer them for us.
- When did you “request a time to come and visit?”
- Why was the meeting with the candidates scheduled just immediately before the early voting at the Summit?
- Why was the meeting posted as a scheduled event on the bulletin board at the Summit? (See below)
- Were you engaging in demagoguery against your opponent Mr. Weest?
- Why were the other candidates denied access to the residents?

The facts….
My mother has lived at the Summit for eight years. I requested a time to come visit with some of the residents regarding my campaign, and the activities director found a 10-minute time slot for me this morning. Before I left the house, I got a call telling me that someone had called and threatened the Summit with a lawsuit, and a with complaint with the Attorney General if they allowed this to happen. Mr. Weest then showed up at the Summit, got very belligerent and threatening with the activities director, then passed his own campaign materials out. I went over to pick my mother up for lunch and left my campaign flyer at the front desk. I did not go back, except to drop my mother off after lunch. After being around for eight years, I suppose I just have a little support over there.
Mrs. Watson has the facts of the situation wrong. They did not “invite” us to come there I asked them for the time. Any of the other candidates could have done the same thing. Mrs. Watson could have taken Mr. Weest there to introduce him to the residents any time she wished.
There were a total of 21 votes cast at the Summit today. Not exactly a battle ground. I was just planning to visit with people I already know, hardly “disgusting,” and certainly not fraud.
Best regards,
Susan Tolles

Got another question for you Susan:
How do you reconcile “Meet the School Board Candidates” with your statement “I requested a time to come visit with some of the residents regarding my campaign, and the activities director found a 10-minute time slot for me this morning?”
